PANDEMIC DECEMBER

A long 8 months being quarantined.  Out for doctor appointments, bank, and now haircuts are our outdoor activities.

Food is delivered to our apartment, and cuisine hasn't improved a bit--probably worse.  Some of the indoor activities have started up again, but no entertainers from outside.  If there is a singer, they must perform outside by the pool.

My hair surely did grow during this time, and all the color is gone, back to salt and pepper.  Lots of white framed around face.

I now have three great-grandchildren.  Madison 4, Mason 2, Mallory was born in August this year.  Each week I try to do face time with Renee in FL.  She babysits her grandchildren on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  It's nice to see and interact with GGC.

I am so bored.  Too lazy to engage in finishing my short story called Gypsy the Pixie.  Needs a lot of editing.  My story about monarch butterflies and another about Bill N Coo, two doves, have been completed.  I've also written biographies for my mom and dad and a part of mine.

I did some crocheting of stuffed animals for GGC and sent a baby blanket for Mallory.  I worked on a small Christmas wall hanging, all done in creams and C'mas trees in gold embroidery.

Made some progress working on borders for my coyote applique.  I still have Sun Bonnet Sue squares that I wanted for GGD's quilt, exotic birds done on black, C'mas quilt squares for 2 wall hangings for my girls, some squares for their wedding quilt, and 4 squares of chickens done with hand applique.

Three quilt tops are waiting to be sandwiched, and a hand applique wall hanging of a pot of flowers waiting.

Two quilts I had for my king-sized bed now will go to my girls as I have a twin bed.  One with lavender and green for Renee and a beige and brown one for Rhonda.  It was my first quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted by Edna Butler, my friend Pat Butler Mish's mom.  It was the last quilt she did.  Jim paid $300 to have it hand quilted for me.  All that money, and she screwed up the binding.  They would have been in the mail already, but postage will be out of sight as they are mucho heavy.

Eighty years old this month and am losing the ability to spell.  Also fighting with remembering words.  It takes longer for the files in the file cabinet in my head to give me the right words.
